Training your baby Rott weiler puppies from the very beginning can be among the happiest moments of their life. When done correctly, it's fun for both you and your dog to progress to become a well-behaved Rottweiler. A baby Rott weiler puppy cannot stress this point enough and cannot be stressed more than this: a well-behaved Rott weiler requires the best training possible.
When Rottweilers first arrive at an obedience school, their training is usually broken into two classes: early and late. While the earlier classes are geared toward teaching your puppy the basics of obedience, the later classes work on more advanced commands and tactics. The classes are scheduled in three different sessions, so it will give you a bit of time to train your new puppy before you move on to the next step.
In the early class, your puppy will learn the basics of walking on a leash, and some basic commands such as sit, stay, come, and heel. They also may learn a few tricks. The first thing you should do to prepare for the class is to make a checklist for all of the things that need to be taken care of. You should have a list of questions for each trainer so that you are ready when you sit down for the first meeting.
For the first lesson, the instructor will teach you about proper Rottweilers etiquette. This will include proper hand signal etiquette when taking turns sitting on command, etc. You will also learn how to control your dog while they are outside. When you get to this section of the class, ask to see the “sit” command on paper and make sure it looks like the commands are correct. If not, ask the instructor for another copy so that you have a second chance.
Next, the instructor will begin to introduce commands such as “down”stay.” When asking questions, be sure to ask each question with complete attention to the answer. Don't just go off asking questions; be prepared for questions. The instructor wants to show you proper way to use certain commands when you get ready to practice the new commands. Once you know each command properly, ask questions to test your answers.
Finally, the instructor will begin to teach you some commands that are not commonly used but will help you keep your puppy in line if necessary. This includes walking on a lead, not jumping on people, not barking excessively, and other simple commands. You may be asked to walk around in circles and stay at a certain spot while wearing a choke collar or an electronic anklet so that you can keep your dog in check. Remember that these commands are easy to learn when you are having fun with them. That's why you came to the class in the first place!
